We were trying to find some shade in the middle of summer in Delhi, where temperatures regularly hit in excess of 35 degrees centigrade. We noticed a minaret to the left of Jama Masjid which was subsequently shaded and so made our way up the twirling stairs. At the top of the stairs, we were rewarded with not just shade from the intense heat, but this view of the entrance to the grounds of Jama Masjid.
